Mela Masala
Function: Event manager

About:
Mela Masala is a vibrant and diverse street theatre festival that I had the privilege of organizing in the heart of Brugse Poort. This event was a celebration of culture and community, featuring live music, theaterperformances, circus acts, and a bustling arts & crafts market. The festival was designed to offer something for everyone—whether you were there to discover new bands, enjoy a theatrical performance, or simply soak in the lively atmosphere.

Held at De Meubelfabriek, Mela Masala provided a platform for both local and international artists to showcase their talents. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we ensured that all performances were held in a safe, open-air environment, adhering strictly to safety regulations to protect our visitors.

The festival was not just about entertainment; it was a space where people from all walks of life could come together, share experiences, and celebrate diversity. Mela Masala truly embodied the spirit of community, bringing together the rich cultural tapestry of Gent in a single, unforgettable event.
Sunday Live
Functie: Event manager
About:
Sunday Live Theater Parade is a vibrant, city-wide event that brings the magic of live performances directly to the neighborhoods of Ghent. Born out of a collaboration with the City of Ghent, this initiative was created to provide safe, yet engaging entertainment during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The parade features a diverse array of artists who travel through various neighborhoods, transforming ordinary streets into lively stages. Residents are treated to an eclectic mix of theater, music, and performance art, all while adhering to health and safety guidelines. Sunday Live Theater Parade not only offered much-needed joy and connection during a time of social distancing but also reinforced the bond between the city’s communities through the shared experience of live art. This project truly exemplifies the resilience and creativity of Ghent’s cultural scene.
